Just recently, Kurt Warner stepped up to the podium to announce his retirement. Kurt Warner spent his career with three different teams; which were the Rams, Cardinals, and the Giants. Warner passed for a 65.5 completion percentage, 208 touchdowns and 128 interceptions along 32,344 yards. Sounds like a great career!

Now that Warner is retired, it’s time for Matt Leinart to step up. The Cardinals have great feelings for him, but with Warner gone, you can expect that they have a chance of not making the playoffs, or if they do make it, it won’t be that far.

Matt Leinart didn’t have the best few seasons as a starter passing for 14 touchdowns and 20 interceptions with 3,893 yards and a 70.8 rating. Not the greatest. You might want to also point out that Arizona is not a running team, either, and they need to rely a bit more on Leinart with the pass.

My prediction? The Cardinals may really suffer for a few years with Warner gone.

After the Vikings suffered a loss to the Saints to end their season, chapter three of the Favre dilemma had started. No. 4 waited four months last season to sign with the Vikings, making his decision after training camp. I can see why.

His dilemma started in 2007 when he retired. When he unretired, Ted Thompson said he could stay but as a backup to Aaron Rodgers. Favre demanded a trade, and his wish was granted: he fell to the New York Jets. After one month when the season was over, he retired and was released by the Jets.

Then, as his story continued, he unretired again and Minnesota was involved right away. After four months, he flew to Minnesota and signed a two year contract. And played this past season for Minnesota, taking them to the NFC Championship, loosing to the Saints.

Now will he come back? I guess we will have to wait and find out!

Just recently, Michael Crabtree has signed a 6 year $32 million contract. He had quite a hold out, going six months. Now Crabtree is set to make his debut October 25, against the Houston Texans.

Crabtree had a great college career, having 231 receptions, 3,127 yards, and 41 touchdowns, playing for Texas Tech.

Crabtree was selected with the 10th overall selection in the 2009 NFL draft, and held out for six months. He was the last first round pick to be signed.

Crabtree was expected to sign and hit the field as a number three receiver, and work some of his magic, and try to help get some wins for the 49ers, and in the playoffs.

The last time the 49ers made it to the playoffs was in 2002. That’s pretty long!

This year the 49ers are 3-2 losing to the Vikings and the Falcons, both teams doing pretty good this year.

If Crabtree does well against Houston, I’m pretty sure he’ll stay on the Field as a Niner.

Rookie Percy Harvin is showing the Minnesota Vikings that they made the right choice in drafting him. Brett Favre is showing that Minny made the right choice in signing him to a contract.

These two athletes, who are playing very well, are in their first year in Minnesota and are already making a stand.

But the question is, should Percy Harvin be Brett Favres number one target besides Bernard Berrian?

Percy Harvin already has 14 receptions for 167 yards, and two touchdowns along with 11.9 yards per catch. He also took a role in returning as well. That’s a good start for a rookie like him.

Now to Favre, this 40 year old has 837 yards, eight touchdowns and only one interception for a 104.7 passer rating. That’s great for an old quarterback. These two are doing play well so far this season, hoping to lead them to a Super Bowl. The Vikings have not been to the Super Bowl since Fran Tarkenton led them to it in 1977. So it’s been 32 years, the age of Tom Brady. So you got to think that’s a long time, huh?

For the question I had earlier, should Percy Harvin be Brett Favre’s number one target? I say no, Harvin is still learning the Vikings’ offense. Maybe later in the year when he learns it some more or in a couple of seasons.

As of now though the Vikings receivers are on fire. So picking up Harvin hasn’t been negative as people thought it would be.

Expect some great things out of the kid from Florida this season.
