Kurt Warner Retires: Time For Leinart To Step Up?

Just recently, Kurt Warner stepped up to the podium to announce his retirement. Kurt Warner spent his career with three different teams; which were the Rams, Cardinals, and the Giants. Warner passed for a 65.5 completion percentage, 208 touchdowns and 128 interceptions along 32,344 yards. Sounds like a great career!

Now that Warner is retired, it’s time for Matt Leinart to step up. The Cardinals have great feelings for him, but with Warner gone, you can expect that they have a chance of not making the playoffs, or if they do make it, it won’t be that far.

Matt Leinart didn’t have the best few seasons as a starter passing for 14 touchdowns and 20 interceptions with 3,893 yards and a 70.8 rating. Not the greatest. You might want to also point out that Arizona is not a running team, either, and they need to rely a bit more on Leinart with the pass.

My prediction? The Cardinals may really suffer for a few years with Warner gone.
